Frank, what is a “conservative Catholic”?
Myself for example I’m just a Catholic the same as any Catholic walking around in 1962. But conservative and liberal? They don’t mean anything, they’re political terms.
I think ‘conservative’ means a deference toward more established things from the past. That’s just wise. But ‘Conservative’ Catholic today seems to refer to faithful Catholics who are willing to compromise with enemies of Christ’s Church.
That’s why I resist that conservative label because I think if we’re Catholic as we should be (traditional catholic because the Church is all about tradition and by law it can’t be thrown out at least the mass or a new one invented) then of course we’ll be conservative, that’s just a given.
Like what’s a “liberal Catholic”? Someone up at Georgetown or walkling around the Notre Dame Campus? They’re not even Catholic, so the liberal catholic such a creature does not exist,
