You said that President Trump “ditched” the national Catholic prayer breakfast, implying he had plans to go but then abandoned those plans.
Please just do the good job you do on reporting the problems in the Church and not engaging in hyperbole. It is just my opinion, but I have gone from strongly supporting you to frankly just ignoring you. You may not care at all, but you aren’t helping turn things around.
From what I understand the Bushes went to most of these. The mainline story is that Pence showed up to say Trump supports Catholic values. Pence has a more Christian history, but it’s still a political snub for the Republican president to skip the breakfast. It’s not because Trump is less conservative than other Republicans, it’s because the Catholic establishment from Francis down is leftist and against his agenda. It’s the same reason that Trump wasn’t invited to Notre Dame. That’s the story. Not the headline that was there.
What you call over-the-top hyperbole is just the news. You can ignore it if you want, but I don’t think it’s helpful.
