Flabbergasting how the church of Rome has evolved (revealed?) itself in the years under Francis as the “church” of the prelates of self entitlement. At least under the corruption of the Mazorean, Avignon and Renaissance papacy, the sense of prudence existed that you had to pretend you were of the apostolic faith even if you were not. Just as the Vatican Council II was a long time in preparation and gestation the Bergoglian nightmare did not materialise out of nowhere. We’ve been “softened up” gradually like frogs in the pot.
Way back in the ’80’s I coined a phrase “the Papal quickstep” which went: “Uh oh! the peasants are revolting because too many things are going too wrong too quickly!” Solution; issue a statement that sounds Catholic. The sheep go back to sleep thinking “the shepherd is on guard; it’s all good” then the shepherd goes back to his more important business of creating a spectacle and everything continues as it was before.

Look, mate, even the unassailable Sarto (Pius X) was surrounded with cunningly disguised enemies.
