    • Agree. I have taken to looking forward to these video talks as an end of day measurement of the day by a Catholic voice I can trust – implicitly.

Never fails to make me laugh, not because Walker is funny per se, but because he’s just so friginn’ right .., and I like his style.

On your face I can feel and read your justified anger. However, at least for now we are blessed with the decision of the Holy Father to not have marrried men ordained to the Priesthood and women to be ordained to the Diaconate. Canon lawyer, Father Murray elaborated tonight skillfully on the issue. Women can never be ordained and the tradition of celibacy will never be abandoned. The central theological argument to defend that only men can be ordained is the fact that it is the man who passes on the COVENANT while the women receives. In our discussions everything is to brought back to this reality. Many women, particularly so called feminists and left nuns are totally ignorant in denying this reality. A German bishop even stated that Jesus did not come to us as a men, but as a human being. Let us remain calm in these weird times of apostasy and find rest in praying the rosary every day and remain orthodox. Those who want revolution will bump on the boundaries of reality, like many German bishops, but they will not get what they want and this may cause outrage. Let us leave them to themselves and their inner chaos. Many women want to be ordained, but their ordination may make them clerical, as Pope Francis stated wisely. They talk about alleged “selfrealisation”, they say that they are ready for ordination: it is all nonsense. I could elaborate on this issue more, but I want to leave it by this. I am a happy celibate priest and I hope to dy in faithfulness to my ordination and when I see these alleged feminists and left nuns talk, it makes me silent. I have reached the stage that I do not become angry anymore. In the USA there are two Benedictine monasteries which are bound to tradition, one in New Mexico and one in Tulsa. They celebrate the MASS AT DEUM and their offices are all in Latin. Many young monks and families move to houses close to the monastery so that they can attend the celebrations. I am so sick of all these compulsory expressions of modernity that maybe one day I will enter. Let us stay together and support each other in our love for the Latin Mass and the Roman Catholic Tradition. May the Lord bless each of you. Peter de Jong

    • Father De Jong, the issue is Pachamama. Pure and simple. Idolatry. Baals. Wicca. Mixing that with this and accepting (sadly of course) the result.

We allow false gods onto the Holy Altars and into our Holy Liturgy and everything else falls. Including, one day soon: Celibate Priests; Married Priests; Female Priests (etc). The whole edifice falls if Pachamama Baal and Wicca is allowed in to the Holy of Holies.

The issue is worship due solely to the Lord God and to Him alone. Sacrilege. Idolatry. On the Altar. In Holy Liturgy. Nothing can approach the gravity of that.

“I am the LORD thy God. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me” (Ex 20: 2,3)

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord … ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; )for the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee from off the face of the earth” (Deut 6: 12-15).

“But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves, for thou shalt worship no mother God; for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods … thou shalt make thee no molten gods” (Ex 34: 12-15, 17).

Indeed, Christus vicit and not the dictatorshop of relativism which reigns the secular world, not the many bishops and priestst who bow their head in order to be accepted and confirmed by the secular world. Not those many priests who very proudly from the pulpit share their emotional preferences. Their performance is not seldom narcissistic and egocentric.
The liturgy of social, psychological and liturgical nonsense can be endlessly filled in. Let us choose for personal holiness. Let us not longer allow the external situations determine our reactions. The external world is a mess, just think of the 61 million aborted human lives and those prelates who deny that this is a preeminent issue. I am 70 years now and I look back, many of us look back realising that one day we will fall in the depth of the Triune God, Creator and Liberator. We could not change the world and neither the Church, neither our neighbours. Let us therefore return into the solitude of our hearts. We can only pray for those who want te change the Church into an NGO. As we grow older we more and more bump on our deepest solitude and maybe, hopefully from within we can formulate our deepest and ultimate answer on this world and her many lies and deceptions. How blessed are we to see and observe all this. Do not get bitter, cynic and sarcastic, but worship Him Who is our last word and last love. Father Peter de Jong

        • Father,
I agree to a certain extent. However … as Catholics we must have the Pope or we are not Catholic. Christ established our Faith upon that Rock. That Rock has been infiltrated by great evil and is deformed; is causing great damage to the Church and confusion among the Faithful.

I worshipped alone and quite devoutly as a Protestant. There are many I know who think that is all that is needed of a Christian.

But now, as a Catholic, the standard of unity is the Pope. God is visible to us through the Office of Pope. And something evil has happened to the occupant and the Seat of Peter. I, for one, do not believe a Catholic can rest until that evil is defeated and Divine Order is restored.

I agree with you about the rest as subtext. But, it is not mutually exclusive, to engage in a most necessary conflict in a most worthy cause – restoration of the Papacy and resistance of the evil that surrounds the Throne …. which, the thought just strikes me, Mr. Frank Walker does quite ably, here at Canon 212, by disseminating truth in a world of chaff.

Thanks for your response. And thank you Frank Walker, for this blog. It is a great good.

    G’day again, Frank.

Here’s another comment that you will delete but I post it here that you might read it. It was originally sent to Br Bugnolo.

I am perfectly happy with the argument that Benedict’s “resignation” of the office of the papacy is invalid and ineffective… as he himself seems to avow in his statements on the matter, his retaining of the title pope, wearing the papal white etc. etc. but there seems to be little doubt that he has resigned and abandoned the “ministry” (which is usually delegated to various bodies anyway) and he tacitly “commissioned” the Cardinals to elect a “ministerial” pope to act in his stead.

That is something that cannot be ignored by the Canonist inc. and it should dampen the opprobrium heaped on the ordinary confused faithful who have no pretensions or obligations to be familiar with Canon Law and its associated politics.

I can’t help but get the idea that your main purpose is to cut the legs off many who have fought valiantly for decades to maintain the Faith in the face of the Modernist (Judaeo-Masonic) assault that was “legitimised” by Vatican Council II. Suddenly all that basic gallantry is to be rendered irrelevant by an argument about Canon Law! Ratzinger (and his Modernist cronies) is to be elevated to the altars of sanctity because of his non-resignation?

This is not a defence of the likes of Scojec, Wiegel, etc. I tried reading some of their stuff years ago and it gave me the creeps. However, I contend that it is grossly unfair to use the likes of them as a cudgel to beat ordinary real Catholics with.

    Kind regards,
    David Marwick

G’day David. I don’t know what Benedict or Francis’s statuses are, but I know Francis is a heretic and should be investigated on many levels and removed by the Church. I am not beating anyone. I’m reporting what I see as news. Any strong statements or unpleasant facts in at Canon212 are in reaction to the situation, offensive as it may be.

    • David Warwick,

As for me, I don’t judge causes and reasons as to *why* Pope Benedict XVI did what he did. I just know *what* he did and that was promulgate a resignation of Ministerium and retention of Munus.

Which makes him objectively still Pope – the only fact that matters for now.

Everything else is just chaff and noise.

      • You’re saying that the whole “keep the Faith” movement is “chaff and noise” compared to the Canonist’s arguments?

Hey! back in history the Faith was kept by people who didn’t know who the pope was, let alone that there were antipopes.

The Faith does not depend on Canon Law. There wasn’t even such a thing as Canon Law for a thousand years or more but the Faith remained in the faithful. Let’s stick to the Faith and leave lawyers and politicians to posture to one another in the rarified atmosphere of their Ivory Towers.

  4. Oldavid,

Only 7 years. That’s all it took to change the fundamental perspective on what it means to “stick to the Faith”.

Gone: Canon Law, the connective tissue between Sacred Tradition and Catholic activities – how it applies to any given circumstance, say, the validity of the resignation of a Pope.

Gone: Whether we can know or care who the Pope is, or what his will is for the Church – as *living embodiment of Christ on earth, His Vicar*. “They didn’t know 1,000 years ago“ (not true) “so we need not know today”. Who cares?

These things *were* “the essence of the Faith”. Now they just belong to the rarefied air of ivory towers. That is what an antipope does to the Holy Office and Sacred Tradition and the faith of the Faithful.

So, what *is* the Faith, if not these very things?
