9 Thoughts on “Canon212 Update: While You’re Confined In Your Home at Gunpoint, Christ’s Church Ripped From Your Life, Black Francis Has Never Been Happier

The perpetual public sacrifice is done away with. Antichrist coming, or a test run?

  2. Let me tell you about my local media here in the republic of Cuomo.
They’re not spreading fear, but doing stories on all the “fun” we can have, like a neighborhood happy hour with people having drinks at the end of their driveways.
The Bishop filling in for Malone has the churches open for safe prayer…but no priests.

It has been said that while GK Chesterton argued with everyone about everything, he quarreled with nobody. Perhaps that could be a lesson. Perhaps you could disagree with people like Bp Schneider, Michael Matt, Roberto de Mattei, etc. without impugning their motives and/or sincerity. Your comments (snide?) accompanying your headlines can be very off-putting to say the least and very un-true at worst.
Regarding the announcement of SSPX Masses with the implication that they want to exclude children. My wife and I travel 200 miles every Sunday to Lacombe,La, and we had to respond to an e-mail as to how many will be attending. The priest mentioned that children below the use of reason can be left home. The reason? There is a very large Latin Mass community at St.Patrick’s in New Olrleans and St. Jane de Chantal in Abita Springs. The SSPX chapels are quite small and it will not take long for a few of these families (8. 9.or 10 children) to overwhelm the church. My son is going to leave his 7 young children home so as not to over-burden the premises. So, no…there is nothing sinister about what the SSPX is doing, just common sense. And, by the way, instead of 1 mass in Kennner, La., they will have 3, and instead of 1 at Our Lady of Fatima, they will have 2. So…thanks are in order.
I know that there is great competition for dollars in the blog sphere, but if you could just provide us with the headlines and articles we could decide what is trustworthy and what is not. Scornful (and I might add, sophomoric) comments coming from you are uncalled for and not welcomed — at least by me. And are you really belittling Alexander (the Pachamama tosser) and what he is suffering now? If you’re not, then why your tone?
Once again (this is just my opinion) it would be to your own advantage to tone down the hyperbole and stick to facts. Leave the catty comments to adolescent girls.

What a nasty letter! Your arrogance, dishonesty, hostility, and appeals to ‘tone’ and ‘facts’ tell me I’m probably on the right track.

I’m very happy though, that the SSPX has been holding public Masses. Masses under any conditions are a blessing and a sign of their faith and courage. I think the conditions they feel forced to make in that linked example are outrageous, but I don’t scold them for it. It shows how bad things have become.

      • In the midst of the global cancellation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I am stunned at the little beacon of SSPX light that stands firm. Our Parish is offering additional Masses, with limitations on attendance to fit the secular law. It is much easier now to see attendance at Mass as the highest of all privileges.

As for your videos, I find your commentary compelling. Table talk. In all the fake news (Catholic included) out there, there is a tiny little corner for Catholic Truth. At the end of the day, I really enjoy the day’s summary and your commentary on it.

        Definitely worth regular donations.

        Dear Frank,
What I responding to was the headline “SSPX offering Mass…but no little kids!” What are we supposed to gather from that? I felt that this required a response.
Several years ago I sent you an e-mail of (what I considered) fraternal correction regarding the atomic bombs dropped on Japan, and you thanked me for my input, for my service to the country and for the 3 sons I’ve given to the Marine Corps. And now, because I disagree with the manner in which you present your headlines, I am arrogant, dishonest, hostile. My wife, family, and friends would disagree.
I will double down by saying that you can disagree with sincere Catholics without belittling them or denigrating their motives. I could take up a lot of space by offering examples of headlines in question, but neither you nor I have the time.
In closing, I will say that I never fail to check out your website, but if we are supposed to follow you in lock-step or be accused of arrogance and hostility, so be it.
I will say, however, that you are not castigating a Johnny-come-lately who’s afraid of telling it like it is. I’ve been in this battle long, long before you were born, but have always tried to be civil. I can be told that I am wrong in this or that point and can gladly debate the matter, but it is difficult to defend a subjective charge. of arrogance and hostility. I’ll just let it drop, lest there be no end to this.

I pray YOU are not arrogant, dishonest, and hostile. But I’m sorry, I think your note was. I hope your next note to somebody is as good as that old one was years ago. I bet it will be. God bless you, Robert. And thank you.

Hi Frank, This is in the local novus ordo parish bulletin for this Sunday, the Fourth Week of Lent. Thank God for the TLM at a parish about 40 minutes away where I’ve been going for the past 3 years (up till now). :

Mr. Rogers’ message of kindness and empathy is needed more than ever

“‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ brings the beloved children’s television icon back into the spotlight in an era in which kindness is at a premium…

[Film Director Heller said,] ‘It feels like everyone is saying to me, “Oh my gosh, it feels like we need Mr. Rogers more than ever.” We’re living in scary times and I think we all have that feeling that we’re losing touch with each other and we’re losing touch with the ability to listen to each other and empathize with each other.’

Nearly 900 episodes of ‘Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood’ ran … from 1968 to 2001. The show’s host used puppets, songs and an endless supply of empathy to help kids through tough issues …

[Sandra Calvert, Georgetown University professor said,] ‘Teaching children at young ages about values of kindness, and empathy and caring for others, is something as a culture would make us flourish if we spent more time doing that…’

Those who knew him swear Fred Rogers, who died of stomach cancer in 2003, was every bit the kind-hearted soul he came across as on television. That didn’t mean he didn’t feel frustration or anger …

[Director Heller said Mr. Rogers’ widow, Joanne, said,] “Listen, it’s important for you to know that he was not a saint. Because if you think of him as a saint, then his message is unattainable.”

‘When she said that to me, it clicked for me … all of us could be kind. The person who takes the mantle, the person to pass the torch to, was all of us.’”
