Now Bergoglio cometh to the Plains of Nineveh. Is his speech centered on the fateful lessons of Bible history? No. It was just another commercial for his Fratelli Tutti, you know, all about respect for differences and diverse religious traditions, building (back better) a future of unity, fraternal love that recognizes “the fundamental values of our common humanity, values in the name of which we can and must cooperate, build and dialogue, pardon and grow.” The Vicar of Vacuousness concludes with a dog whistle of supreme irony and astounding ignorance of antiquity: “ So I encourage you: do not forget who you are and where you come from! Do not forget the bonds that hold you together! Do not forget to preserve your roots!” Yes, let’s talk roots, OK?
In Genesis, it says that “Ashur built Nineveh.” His city was consecrated to the Cult of Nin(a), the “heavenly queen” (aka Ishtar, sister of the sun and daughter of the moon god). His kingdom, dedicated to his namesake, the War Lord Ashur, would become a totalitarian superpower stretching from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea. The Assyrians were feared as the “Lords of Massacre.” Their palaces were characteristically “guarded” by mammoth stone bulls with bird-of-prey wings and the head of god-king Ashur.
By the 8th century B.C., Nineveh was the largest city in the world, “three days’ journey in breadth.” It was also a city “of great wickedness.” God commanded the Hebrew Jonah to warn of Divine Wrath upon the pagan citizens so ignorant of “the difference between right and wrong.” Instead of helping save “the enemy,” Jonah fled and attempted sailing to (what is today) Spain. God sent a storm and Jonah, admitting his guilt, fell overboard, only to be swallowed by a whale in whose belly he lived a repentant three days and nights. Miraculously coughed up, Jonah returned to warn proud Nineveh that God would destroy it in forty days. The king put on sackcloth and ashes; he mandated everyone’s fast, prayer, and humble contrition. God in His mercy spared the city… until it fell back into evil ways. Prophetic denunciations against Nineveh, its sudden ruin, shame, and utter desolation are foretold in the Old Testament’s Book of Nahum. Due to Assyria’s pride, God would make “an utter end of the place.” “And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste.” In the New Testament (Matt.12), Jesus rebukes Israel (faithless, deceitful) such that even “the men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment of this generation and shall condemn it.”
In the 7th century B.C., Nineveh was duly sacked and abandoned after a striking coup d’etat led by Nabopolassar who established Babylonian dictatorship throughout the Middle East. For the next thousand years, Nineveh lay in ruins as the empires of Persia, Greece, Rome, and Christian Byzantium came and went. By the 7th century A.D. when the Arab Muslims conquered the area, the very memory of its name had been lost. Today there is no trace of Nineveh (across from Mosul on the Tigris) except for a pulverized shrine to Jonah and a couple “tels,” earth mounds formed from accumulated refuse and rubble.

Bergóglio is not “one step from heresy”, as he playfully suggests. He is a heretic. It is not difficult to say that, because it is an objective fact. To not say it makes one complicit in the heresy, with all associated punishments.
There is no God but God. And God is Father, Son, Holy Spirit; Three In One; co-eternal and outside of time. Jesus was made flesh and dwelt among us – fully God and fully Man; incarnate of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, spotless, full of Grace.
Any Catholic would insist on these points, for the sake of the salvation of souls (including their own), to the point of death. Christians have nothing (0, zero) in common with the Islamic religion which must be rooted out and burned in Old Testament cleansing fire because it is an implacable mortal enemy of salvation in God.
