And he just recently called for the celebration of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy which will begin December 8 this year and conclude November 20, 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s true.\u00a0 Mercy, mercy, mercy and not a word about repentance.\u00a0 It&#8217;s like the opposite of what a prophet of God might say.<\/p>\n<p>Mercy \u201cis nothing less than \u2018reaching out with our heart\u2019 to others,\u201d the bishops continued. \u201cSometimes it seems we live in a heartless world. Everywhere we come across moral, spiritual, social, intellectual, physical and material poverty\u2026and we also find people who have hardened their hearts in the face of human suffering.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>People who &#8216;harden their hearts in the face of human suffering&#8217; don&#8217;t do any work.\u00a0 It&#8217;s called lazy.\u00a0 Most of the time poverty goes with it, but in many cases, like the Holy Family itself, poverty can come from sacrifice and self-giving.\u00a0 That kind of poverty is nothing to denigrate.<\/p>\n<p>Is FrancisChurch trying to tell us that Mary, Joseph, and Jesus were foolish, or that they were unfortunate victims of someone else&#8217;s hard heart?\u00a0 And why is everything poverty&#8230;&#8217;moral, spiritual, social, intellectual, physical and material?&#8217;\u00a0 (Nothing is actually &#8216;social,&#8217; is it?)<\/p>\n<p>I think the only poverty Pope Francis can speak to is spiritual.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In light of this situation, and to prepare for the Pope\u2019s Sept. 19-22 visit, the Cuban bishops asked people to perform works of mercy for those in need on the first Fridays of the next three months. They also requested \u201cspecial times of prayer and fasting,\u201d as well as community prayer vigils Sept. 17-18.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of these initiatives is \u201cto ask for God\u2019s help so that he would dispose the hearts of all Cubans so they would listen to and receive the message of hope and mercy that Pope Francis will bring to us,\u201d they stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is just more creepy Francis-worship.\u00a0 Look at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cruxnow.com\/church\/2015\/06\/30\/details-for-pope-francis-us-trip-announced\/\" target=\"_blank\">hysterics <\/a>of FrancisVisit Abp.
