When does that happen?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the terrible era of FrancisChurch there is yet an occasional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/hungarian-bishop-says-pope-is-wrong-about-refugees\/2015\/09\/07\/fcba72e6-558a-11e5-9f54-1ea23f6e02f3_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">bishop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"dateline\">BUDAPEST \u2014<\/span> Pope Francis\u2019s message Sunday couldn\u2019t have been clearer: With hundreds of thousands of refugees flowing into Europe, Catholics across the continent had a moral duty to help by opening their churches, monasteries and homes as sanctuaries.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the church\u2019s spiritual leader for southern Hungary \u2014 scene of some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/as-hungary-talks-tough-on-border-security-refugees-continue-to-pour-in\/2015\/09\/06\/6f5b6f5c-54bf-11e5-9f54-1ea23f6e02f3_story.html\">heaviest migrant flows<\/a> anywhere in Europe \u2014 had a message just as clear: His Holiness is wrong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re not refugees. This is an invasion,\u201d said Bishop Laszlo Kiss-Rigo, whose dominion stretches across the southern reaches of this predominantly Catholic nation. \u201cThey come here with cries of \u2018Allahu Akbar.\u2019 They want to take over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bishop\u2019s stark language reflects a broader spiritual struggle in Europe over how to respond to a burgeoning flow of predominantly Muslim men, women and children onto a largely Christian continent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This language is so hopeless.\u00a0 Is it a &#8216;broad spiritual struggle&#8217; to figure out how to respond?\u00a0 The fact that they are invading is in itself a<strong> broad spiritual loss!<\/strong>\u00a0 Struggle over.\u00a0 Time to lose.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Even as Catholics in other parts of Europe heeded the pope\u2019s plea for help Monday, there was little evidence here that church leaders were prepared to elevate what has so far been an anemic response to one of the worst humanitarian crises Europe has seen in decades.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8216;Anemic?&#8217;\u00a0 I&#8217;d say the continent was bleeding profusely.\u00a0 What more does the Washington Post want from what&#8217;s left of Europe?\u00a0 We&#8217;re not there yet!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And despite the heat that Orban has taken worldwide for attempts to crack down on some of the globe\u2019s most vulnerable people by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/syrian-migrants-reach-austria-as-hungary-retreats-from-harsher-measures\/2015\/09\/05\/2a3a6e7e-5333-11e5-b225-90edbd49f362_story.html\">halting their journeys<\/a> or throwing them into prison, his stance has seemed to only burnish his reputation here as a no-nonsense nationalist who will defend the country against an onslaught of \u201ctens of millions\u201d of new arrivals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in total agreement with the prime minister,\u201d Kiss-Rigo said in an interview Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The pope, by contrast, \u201cdoesn\u2019t know the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The situation, as Kiss-Rigo describes it, is that Europe is being inundated by people who are posing as refugees but actually present a grave threat to the continent\u2019s \u201cChristian, universal values.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t that comforting.\u00a0 At least the Archbishop is deferential enough to pretend that Francis doesn&#8217;t know these people aren&#8217;t refugees.\u00a0 Poor Pope Francis is just uninformed.\u00a0 That&#8217;s why on almost every single policy point he pushes the UN-Obama-EU-Castro-Islamist agenda.\u00a0 He just has a big heart and not much of a nose for news I guess.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, wait.\u00a0 Francis doesn&#8217;t like abortion or euthanasia.\u00a0 He said it.\u00a0 He just likes handing the reins to it&#8217;s mass-murdering power brokers, that&#8217;s all.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a complex world and you want to be 100% consistently pro-life; pro-life in a way that really kills.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Even though the majority of migrants who have crossed the border in southern Hungary are from Syria \u2014 where war has claimed more than 320,000 lives in the past four years \u2014 he judged them unworthy of assistance because most of them \u201chave money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They leave rubbish in their wake, he said, and refuse when offered food.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of them behave in a way that is very arrogant and cynical,\u201d said Kiss-Rigo, who has been bishop for nine years in an area that is home to some 800,000 Catholics.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Who does this Catholic bishop think he is making value judgments!\u00a0 You&#8217;re not supposed to call victim groups selfish people of low character.\u00a0 How is that even relevant? Next you&#8217;ll be knocking their holy religion.\u00a0 That&#8217;s not Christian!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Aid workers on the border and at Budapest\u2019s central train station \u2014 where hundreds of refugees awaited trains Monday to Western Europe \u2014 gave a different account. They described people desperate for assistance and grateful to receive it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Whew. Finally some honest information from government-sponsored aid groups.\u00a0 Well they would know, yes?\u00a0 And they&#8217;d be sure to tell the press if it weren&#8217;t so.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not like they&#8217;re paid to lie about it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the terrible era of FrancisChurch there is yet an occasional bishop.
