Pope<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Why is it considered unsophisticated and hysterical to write about Communism these days when totalitarian statism has never been more accepted?\u00a0 Why is it so difficult to see the effects of it&#8217;s influence, of it&#8217;s backers and their patient efforts, even inside the Church?<\/p>\n<p>Communists see traditional Catholicism and the Ancient Mass as products of an oppressive elite?\u00a0 Why not?\u00a0 They see everything else that way.\u00a0 Communists think of the new vernacular Mass as the &#8220;people&#8217;s&#8221; Mass.\u00a0 So does <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cfnews.org\/page88\/files\/8ec136c401d22a81c19ddcf949d61ecb-356.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pope Francis<\/a>, the same Pope who sees the difference between Catholicism and Communism as only one of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholic.org\/news\/hf\/faith\/story.php?id=55998\" target=\"_blank\">semantics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Take Communism and add some God and you&#8217;ve got the Catholic Church according to Francis; you know, a Church where the &#8216;poor are the center of the Gospel&#8217; and all that, where if you don&#8217;t help the poor on the peripheries it doesn&#8217;t matter what &#8216;religious observances&#8217; you <a href=\"http:\/\/ncronline.org\/blogs\/francis-chronicles\/pope-francis-mass-vernacular-helps-people-understand-god-live-faith\" target=\"_blank\">follow<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just as Communists praise Francis today, I suspect that Communists were quite happy with the Paul VI Mass.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 What do they care?\u00a0 It is because Communists are atheists who cannot realize their goals without thwarting the graces of the Church, causing widespread rejection of God, and a depraved rootless people.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis is entirely wrong when he links Communism to Catholicism, but he&#8217;s not wrong when he links his own concept of the Church to it.\u00a0 FrancisChurch, moving &#8220;forward&#8221; from Paul VI, is entirely compatible with Communism because it enables it quite well.<\/p>\n<p>At Breitbart, Austin Ruse follows up on what Communists, and Reagan Era Communist-fighting men see in the New Pope of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2015\/03\/18\/marxists-celebrate-pope-francis\/\" target=\"_blank\">People.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A largely overlooked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">column<\/a>\u00a0by human rights advocate Armando Valadares raises questions about the initiative of Pope Francis toward the \u201cisland-prison\u201d of Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>In early January, Valladares, who spent 22 years in Castro\u2019s prisons and went on to write a highly influential book about it, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">says <\/a>the recent opening to Cuba by the West is part of an \u201cObama-Francis axis\u201d that he calls a \u201cspiritual-political axis which\u2026 will now provide the repressive apparatus of the Cuban regime with rivers of money and favorable publicity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">He says<\/a> Pope Francis and President Obama are merely replacing the Soviet Union, then Venezuela, and finally Brazil as Castro\u2019s financial enablers.<\/p>\n<p>Two days after the simultaneous December 19th announcement by Rome, Washington, and Havana of the diplomatic rapprochement, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">Valladares reported<\/a>\u00a0a Cuban Coast Guard boat \u201cbegan ramming a boat fleeing Cuba with 32 people on board, including seven women and two children, to sink the frail craft.\u201d Valladares called it \u201ca brutal action by a regime that feels back up by powerful allies. A criminal event so seriously damning for the Castro regime would deserve a worldwide outcry of repudiation but was hardly noticed\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">He said<\/a> the event wasn\u2019t even notice by \u201cchurchmen who should imitate the Good Shepard by being ready to give their lives for their sheep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Valladares, who served as U.S. Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission under Presidents Reagan and Bush, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">charges<\/a> that the \u201cmost serious and tragic aspect of this agreement\u201d between the US and Cuba, \u201cfalls upon Pope Francis, its most eminent architect and mediator.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">he says,<\/a> \u201cThis is not the first time that Francis takes measures that objectively favor the political and ecclesiastical left in Latin America\u2026 For example, he personally attended the World Meeting of Popular Movements held in Rome from October 27 to 29. It gathered 100 revolutionary world leaders, including well-known Latin American professional agitators.\u201d Valladeres\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">called<\/a>\u00a0the meeting a kind of \u201cbeatification of these Marxist-inspired revolutionary figures\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Valladares\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubdest.org\/1506\/c1501franciscoave.htm\">also points to<\/a>\u00a0Francis\u2019s overturning the suspension of the Nicaraguan priest Miquel D\u2019Escoto who had been the Foreign Minister of the revolutionary Sandanista regime, \u201ca leading pro-Castro figure in liberation theology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Where Valladares might be described as a man of the right, a man of the farthest left sees the same thing in Francis and approves.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the continual refrain that now &#8216;martyr&#8217; Oscar Romero was not a Liberation Theologist, just &#8216;used&#8217; by them; Romero is their hero, and the Pope has backed his cause despite years of it&#8217;s being blocked.\u00a0 (Note the similarities between the populist &#8216;art&#8217; surrounding Romero and the material produced by the Pope&#8217;s Vatican artist, Chinese propagandist, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicvote.org\/how-a-chinese-propaganda-artist-painted-the-pope\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shen Jiawei<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Richard Greeman, a writer for the Marxist website New Politics, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2015\/03\/18\/newpol.org\/content\/catholicism-new-communism\">wonders<\/a> if \u201cCatholicism is the new communism.\u201d He describes his years, after the Second Vatican Council, working in Latin America, participating in the rise of \u201cliberation theology.\u201d He says, \u201cLiberation theology Catholics were consistently more revolutionary than Leftists of all stripes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Read the rest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2015\/03\/18\/marxists-celebrate-pope-francis\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 The ties between Communism and the modern radical revolution in the Church must be revisited, not shamefully hidden, in the new Francis Era, if only for the fact that a disabled Church is key to the success of statism.<\/p>\n<p>Ruse closes with a chilling reality that we must squarely face.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2015\/03\/18\/newpol.org\/content\/catholicism-new-communism\">Greeman asks<\/a>, \u201cHow did such an openly radical priest manage to get elected.\u201d Valladares may be asking the same question.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why is it considered unsophisticated and hysterical to write about Communism these days when totalitarian statism has never been more accepted?\u00a0 Why is it so difficult to see the effects of it&#8217;s influence, of it&#8217;s backers and their patient efforts, even inside the Church?
