I just got my first copy of Benedictus “The Traditional Catholic Companion”. Oh, but I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long, long time. From the back cover:

I haven’t used it yet – just pulled it out of the package for the first time. But at first glance, this is a game changer, at least for me. It’s beautiful and easy to use and connects busy, busy, busy me to the Traditional Calendar well before the dates so I can prepare. This seems to me a Liturgical Guide for the Traditional Laity like me with good intent but in need of guidance from the Masters.
This is a new publication and from what I’ve seen so far I recommend it and hope it carries far and wide and becomes a norm in the SSPX, ICKSP and FSSP pews.
$5 is all per month. A worthy effort. May God prosper this most excellent effort and make it thrive in the coming Restoration. I have a very, very good feeling about what is coming … even though their may yet be severe persecutions – from our own Church leaders no less … I do sense, or at least have faith that God is going to reclaim His own and sooner than we might think. This little monthly book is a very good step in the right direction.

Fantastic and relevant topic today, by Padre Peregrino – Fr. David Nix, in his series on “The Great Ones”. Are they deserving of prayer? Is it possible to pray for their conversion? Should we? Or should we rather pray for their early demise and just judgement to hell?
I had a conversation about his very topic with my Priest and I found out something I never knew before. We must make a distinction between “anger” and “rage”, as he put it.
Anger is the natural response of a human being to injustice.
Rage is the mortally sinful response that wishes death and eternal damnation upon a child of God.
Anger is an emotion like any other potentially sinful emotion which has its roots in something positive but can be made, by our sinful flesh and its inclinations, into sins that separate us from God and how God wants our souls to choose in their design to glorify God and advance His Kingdom. Anger, like lust, must be recognized and channeled away to thoughts of the Divine before it has a chance to take root.
Rage is the ultimate destination of Anger, unchecked. You visualize and desire your fellow human being, made in the image of God, intended by its Maker to glorify God forever, you visualize them and enjoy contemplation of them rotting and burning forever in the sulphur of hell. Or, just one step down from that, not caring whether they do or don’t.
Anger is a warning flag that needs to be recognized for what it is and channeled properly with spiritual discipline.
Rage needs to be recognized snd repented of immediately because it is a mortal sin of the worst kind.
God bless Fr. Nix in his present temporary ministry – so helpful to me in retaining clarity in confusing times.
Anger as evil is (1) a deliberate act of the will (2) vain and futile (the situation cannot be changed) (3) unnecessary (the situation could be mastered much better without it). Anger is one of the seven deadly sins and goes against the 5th Commandment specifically. It is the violent reaction to any threat, not to our life, but to our fantasy that our life is more important than anyone or anything else. It involves words and acts of cruelty and revenge: finding satisfaction in making others suffer, including desiring their death, to relieve our own wounded pride or suffering.
In Circle Five of Dante’s Inferno, the Wrathful wage pointless and eternal combat in the Styx, the River of Hatred. The deeper their rage, the deeper they sink in the sulphurous slime. They lose all humanity and beauty, having become gnashing, screeching animals, ugly monsters.
Such is the kingdom of the Anti-Christ.
