I am gobsmacked by the near universal acceptance by “political conservatives” and “orthodox Catholics” of the logic of war with Russia and alliance with Ukraine. Their enemy: an objectively Christian nation which just escaped from 70 years of communist tyranny is their enemy. Their friend: an objectively corrupt nation which is the locus of the internationalIst, leftist, One World Government totalitarian monster.
And they, apparently, are willing to go to total war, up to and including nuclear to defend the pervert who leads this disgusting nation. I use (“they”) broadly, because in truth none of them expects to actually sacrifice anything for this cause which will ultimately lead to their own enslavement when thr OWG movement prevails in godless, pagan Ukraine. *Others* will fight. *Others* will sacrifice.
Well, all you arm-chair warriors, this one will almost certainly reach out and touch you right where you live, up to and including your own loved ones and even yourselves. We will pay an economic price first. Most assuredly we will pay a military price second – which includes American lives and treasure (not just others … you). And after that comes the political and social reckoning. Ever thought America might lose a big, important war? I have. Losers of wars pay heavy prices – those who survive.
The war drums don’t stop. We are being led into catastrophe by a government that hates America and hates her citizens. They want America emasculated and defeated; OWG empowered. And conservatives and orthodox Catholics favor this path.
All you (so called) conservatives and orthodox Catholics: I have no idea what you think we are fighting for, but ultimately you are advancing the cause of your own demise, those you love, and all you hold dear – unless someone who can do something stops this madness, and gets us out of this ridiculously horrid and doomed war for the pagans and Nazis of Ukraine; the OWG overlords just waiting and biding their time for Post-Covid Part Deux of their power grab.
Well said, Aqua, and reminding us of St.Paul’s Epistle to the Roman Christians where he decries their “falling asleep” and slothfulness at a time of impending danger… also, of Our Lord in Gethsemane asking the dozing Apostles to awaken and pray with Him! Laziness and blindness have their consequences. Jerusalem was eventually sacked, depopulated, and became a longtime backwater, just as was Imperial Rome a few centuries later.
Think of the flaming freakshow of Rome under Caligula and Nero, the Fascist culture of death under the Flavians, the dystopian dictatorship of the dynastic Severins, followed by the hapless “Age of Crisis and Appeasement.” Instead of keeping the peace exorbitantly paid for by Rome, scheming warlords and insatiable foreign supertribes opened all borders and summarily expropriated Roman Europe.
So what was Rome’s knee-jerk response to anarchy, trade dislocation, massacre, and fiscal chaos abroad? More bribes, more debauchery, more depravity, more games and circuses, more and more brutal Christian persecutions (refusal to worship the Emperor, God of the State, being a capital crime).
Who doesn’t see the same sort of thing that took place over centuries, now compressed as if in a zip file right before our eyes?
