A reader sent these fairly obscene fashion show pictures from an ‘event’ in the archdiocese of ‘reality-based’ Archbishop Coleridge, who has no ‘false certainties’ yet knows four bad cardinals when he sees them.

Not ones to have ‘undue attachment to structures,’ the archdiocese decided it no longer has any use for this church. So now it rents it out, then uses the sleazy funds to do something Christian, I suppose.

My apologies for the content but, since the archbishop has made himself an expert in ‘realities and certainties’ on behalf of sacrilegious new FrancisTeachings, I think people should know perhaps what he means.

44 Thoughts on “What They Do With Beautiful Old Churches in Brisbane Archdiocese

  1. He is evil indeed!

  2. WOW! Are those girls skinny! And are those fashions ugly! And isn’t is appropriate that those poor souls were presenting apples from the sanctuary steps to the audience. And this sacrilege even though The Presence is no longer there! And how this Bishop shows his true colours.

    Shame!

An obscene homage to the fall of Adam and Eve.

In a holy Catholic church built by the blood, sweat, toil, and tears of Catholics.

Who aren’t alive to defend it.

Put on with the blessing of a prince of the Church.

May God have mercy upon up.

May the holy Catholics that built it forgive us and pray for us.

  5. Aha! Archbishop Coleridge now coming through crystal clear.

  6. It would’ve been better to take a wrecking ball to the church than to allow Satan to dance with his puppets in it. Such mockery. Evil.

  7. Is this St Patrick’s, Fortitude Valley?

Lest any of your readers assume that this a deconsecrated former church, please see the diocesan Mass schedule.

    https://brisbanecatholic.org.au/parishes-mass-times/mass-centre/st-patricks-church-fortitude-valley/

How is this not blatant sacrilege?

Given the age of those in the sanctuary, I also have no doubt that the “event” here was put on by the local “Catholic” girls high school.

    Happy to be corrected.

  8. I stand corrected, and offer apologies. No school involved.

It seems in this case that the consecrated ground was simply hired out.

So there we are: run-of-the-mill desecration of Our Lord’s house in the name of local commerce.

There’s a story I remember from somewhere, a man with a scourge of cords and tables overthrown…

    • No need to apologise. I was in Perth for a conference a few months back and the Cathedral there advertises openly to have your next musical event at “Perth’s premier arts venue”. What evil

  9. Feed my Sheep ??? These semi innocent girls have lost the sense of sacred, as they and their minders have lost the sense of sin; more evidence of the confusion and schism in the Church, right to the top. Those that have conformed to this world and its prince maintain a war against those who fight to remain in communion with the Saints, who have tried not to lose their ‘pure’ flavour.

Then there are those who have no idea of the cosmological battle between good and evil and certainly are too luke warm to pick up their cross.

Our Lady of Akita; Oct 13, 1973: “The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord..”

What more needs to be said about the Shepherds?

Really it those not matter if this girls vave lost the sense of sacred. The really serious is that the Archbishop of that Diocese have lost his responsability about to teach all the people to respect the God House !!!!

In Spain there is a saying: “We are not more stupid because we do not train enough”.
Archbishop and priests of that archdiocese will tray to promote respect to the God House??

St. Patrick’s Church is still used for Sunday Mass, two times. Please check with the archbishop himself first, before you blame him for it. He may have no knowledge of this

It is his diocese. He is responsible for every church, every priest and every soul. Oh what a terrifying responsibility to wear the mitre. Oh how much more terrifying yet that the present heirs of the apostles are a group of so many emasculated dangerous post-Christian heretics, dragging their sheep to hell. God save us.

  11. I had the pleasure of having Coleridge for a number of ecumenism classes as a seminarian. It was pluralism 101. The heresies that he taught in those few classes still keep me awake at night

What a travesty. When did this actually take place and who put on this event? It’d be good to know those details when contacting the archbishop.

It’s sad to see people jumping all over the archbishop before actually seeing if he knows about it. No more innocent until proven guilty?

    • He would know about this. He knows what goes on in his parishes and in the cathedral. He must be turning a blind eye.

    • Abin Joy on December 24, 2016 at 6:30 am said:

If that was the case I think his statement would have mentioned something like “Mark Col was not aware of this fashion show. Instead they are trying to defend this”?

  13. Back 22 years ago the “new” church that I belonged to was consecrated and the head of the parish council’s daughter was in “dancing”. They had scantily clad “vestal virgins” dancing. The BISHOP applauded! The pastor 2 years earlier had the baptist minister give the homily and ridiculed the sacrament of confession. The pastor was at the methodist building, the methodist was at the baptist building. That is when my eyes were opened. I did a gut check and bought a Book Of Canon Law. We need constant prayers for all on this earth and Christ’s Church. May we all meet in heaven.

  14. To Patricia and Catherine,

Read what Michael says and take it to heart. This happened right in the Archbishop’s backyard – almost literally, he lives close by. If – a very big if – he had ‘no knowledge of this’, the question that screams out is – why didn’t he? He is the one in charge. He is supposed to be vigilant lest desecrations such as this happen on his watch. This is not a case of innocent until proven guilty. His own actions – or lack of them – condemn him.

This article may help understand what has happened in the full context of Catholic Faith. The Archbishop’s spokesman is not apologising for what happened but defending it.

If the archbishop did not know about this usage of a functioning Catholic church in his archdiocese then he should have known. Who is the priest there? Who signed the church over for this demonic inspired performance? What does the Papal Nuncio have to say ? ….not that we ever hear much about him or from him — ( Apostolic Nuncio to Australia His Excellency Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana) —
Queensland seems to have had more than its share of appalling behaviour where hierarchy and clergy are concerned. It is indeed horrific. Why did this particular case take so long to be exposed ? Let us hope that this will be dealt with and not swept under the altar to keep satanic presence alive there.

We must ALL write to to Cardinal Sarah in Rome, AND to the Apostolic delegate in Canberra requesting that they have Mark Coleridge dismissed. In allowing this scandal, Coleridge has shown his total negligence in to his office, the souls in his care and the Church . He has violated numerous articles of Canon Law and thereby he has forfeited his authority and position in permitting this act and causing scandal to the faithful parishioners of St Patrick’s church, Fortitude Valley.

    • I’m looking into drawing up a petition for a public apology to all catholics, especially in that parish, and will post here and on fb once I get it done.

      • Paul Hickey on December 17, 2016 at 8:00 am said:

Write also Abp. Coleridge here and Cardinal Sarah in Rome. Ask Sarah to take disciplinary action against Coleridge for the scandal and the prolongation of a consecrated place. It is truly outrageous.

        • Paul Hickey on December 17, 2016 at 8:01 am said:

That should read “profanation of a sacred space” not prolongation. The auto spell check in action.

A commenter on Lifesite said that a service of reparation needs to be done in this Church–something about Canon Law 2011 (?) that deals with whenever sacrilegious things happen in a Catholic Church These photos above are just awful. Dear Jesus, have ﹰMercy on all of us. Help us dry your many tears and have the utmost respect for ﹰYour holy ﹰCatholic ﹰChurches around the world. We respect your Priests and Bishops. Help them. Have mercy on them. Let us all live as You wish us to live. Amen.

Brisbane Archdiocese had been self destructing for the last 50 years. I am appalled the organizers can’t see the sacrilege. The temple has been turned into a place for porn. Who ever allowed this needs to resign.

I have only just read about this travesty and that is what it should be called. How dare the Archbishop condone this flagrant misuse of a great old church that seems to be going the same way as St Mary’s, South Brisbane was some time back. The then Archbishop, Bathersby, failed to deal with the problem at St Mary’s. While I’m at it, the Archbishop should get rid of the “flying crucifix” that “adorns” the Cathedral of St Stephen in the Brisbane CBD. It’s ugly!

  23. Glaucio on December 18, 2016 at 1:21 am said:

    Absurd!

  24. I can’t believe what is happening to the Church and for this Archbishop to allow this is a disgrace. He is suppose to be the shepherd of the faithful just the way Jesus was. Then you wonder why the world is the way it is. He has put his own soul in danger and one day will be judged.

  27. Christ said ” You have turned my Father’s house into a den of thieves”. If Christ walked in on this travesty, He would have to say “You have turned my Father’s house into a den of iniquity.” Shame, shame, shame on the organizators, the participants, the defenders of the productions, the people in the audience who did not walk out and the officials of the Church who approved this sin with or without knowing what was involved.

very lovely altar . . . such a pity that if they had no more use for it as a church or for any other sacred activity, it would have been better to demolish it through and through… the altar is beautiful, if we can only have our way, we would not hesitate to take the altar and place it in our churches and chapels here…

  29. Disgusting. Heart breaking. Tell you something else Coleridge doesn’t know- a true prophet from a false one.
