UPDATE: Reports this morning, 2/15/2016,  say that Justice Scalia was found with a pillow over his head and shows no evidence of having had a heart attack.  “County Judge Cinderela Guevara pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without seeing the body — which is permissible under Texas law.”

In a world where millions of infants are murdered and people are now being openly euthanized, is it absurd to think that good Justice Antonin Scalia may have died on purpose?  I’m not saying it’s likely or unlikely.  But is it ridiculous?  We will certainly hear that now.  Whatever the coroner rules will be the case of course, when that happens.

When Al Gore tried to steal the 2000 election, they threw it to the Court.  Is 2016 heading there too?  Matt Drudge said recently that the supremes are getting ready to move decisively against the free press.  There are many important cases pending and the Republicans don’t actually reassure about delaying an appointment.  Instead they sound, to me, very weak, like a bunch of babies confined to a daycare and helpless.

When Benedict abdicated the papacy three years ago this week, was it really just because he wasn’t feeling vigorous?  That certainly worked out.  Francis is apparently much more vigorous, but Benedict was never that way.  Benedict never expressed anything that wasn’t carefully prepared, scholarly, powerful, and very clear.  He was extremely vigorous about communicating the truth, but he was never vigorous like Francis.

Francis is also a very effective communicator.  He blasts out words and images in a mesmerizing way that permits him to inject a potent drop of poison into his victims while they are befuddled.  He has an army of first-rate spinners creating the FrancisShow for all the world and he just needs to put his two feet on the spot blocked-out on stage, then blurt.

He travels the world and its worst tyrants, politicians, and bishops flock to meet him.  The media faux-reports the roaring crowds, but the cities are always locked-down and the merchants disillusioned.  Every now and then when this happens, one figure in his triumphant joy will tell the truth about Francis.  We remember people like Bolivia’s Morales, Raul Castro, and particularly, Barack Obama.  The fact that men like these praise Francis so profusely is quite the condemnation really.  Is it for his Christian witness?

Yesterday the left-wing mayor of Dallas, Mike Rawlings, announced he will travel to frightening Juarez, Mexico to participate in Francis’ Border Stunt.  He also said some very revealing things.

The Dallas Morning News reports:

“I am not a big person to go meet famous people, but the Pope isn’t famous,” Rawlings said with a small laugh. “He’s the pope. And this being a bi-national, cross-border event is a very cool idea. To participate in that is an exciting thing.”

The event is being portrayed as a restoration party for a city long seen as a blood-drenched, drug-fueled murder capital. Media reports in recent weeks have noted its steep drop in homicides, and a wholesale clean-up effort that has taken place since the pope’s visit was announced last fall.

“Ciudad Juárez is not just safer, it’s booming: new restaurants, car showrooms and other businesses are sprouting,” reported the Guardian earlier this week. “Streets once deserted after dark now have shoppers and diners. Theatrical productions, including the Vagina Monologues, have revived.”

Not only did the FrancisEffect make Juarez a completely different place overnight, but now they even find Mexican women to perform that miserable lesbian love story!

“The whole border issue continues to be a fractious thing, and if the pope can build some bridges across that border,” Rawlings said, “I think that’s a very important step.”

Rawlings, who attends First Presbyterian Church in downtown Dallas, until recently served on the Board of Trustees of Jesuit College Preparatory, from which his son Gunnar graduated in 2007. Gunnar then embarked on a series of teaching jobs at Catholic schools in Denver and Dallas, including Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep.

He’s a Democrat who wants more illegal aliens, he’s a Presbyterian on the board of a local Jesuit college, and the Archdiocese gives his son jobs.  This is a Pope Francis pillar of the Catholic community!  But Rawlings has been dealing with the ‘church’ for a long time.

Rawlings spoke Friday night about being taught by Jesuits at Boston College, of being steeped in the liberation theology that, simply put, says it’s necessary to commingle religion and politics to end poverty.

Pope Francis “is living that in the contemporary way,” Rawlings said. “We’re big fans of his. We were thrilled when he was announced, and he’s lived up to those expectations. Even though he can’t be in Dallas, at least he’s doing this Mass for both sides.”

“Doing this Mass?”  What is a FrancisMass anyway?

Why not just come right out and say it?  Francis is showing us that ‘new way of living’ they taught us at Boston College, where a ‘commingled political religion’ ends poverty once and for all.

“We were thrilled when he was announced and he’s lived up to those expectations.”  Is the Mayor talking about this current trip to Mexico or the entire FrancisPapacy?

Why was Liberation Theology condemned as blatant heresy until 2013?  Perhaps because it has nothing to do with Christianity, justice, or charity, and everything to do with power.

I have no way of knowing why Pope Benedict stepped down.  I do know it was not helpful to the Church, nor was it in character.  It was, historically speaking, a very singular event.  The death of 79-year-old Justice Scalia while he was a guest on a remote ranch doesn’t suggest foul play, except for the fact that it’s a staggering defeat for the planet.  Scalia was no Roberts.  He was a man of God who couldn’t be bought.  I can’t help thinking it seems odd and at the same time unsurprising in these cruel times.  And I won’t be surprised either when Scalia’s replacement turns out to be much more ‘vigorous’ than he ever was.

Liberalism is the religion of the world and the Prince of this World is Satan.  If you only vote Republican because a candidate claims to be against abortion, then you need to ask yourself, “Am I actually a faithful Christian?”  There are never any reasons to vote for a liberal ever.  There isn’t even a Republican candidate standing who won’t buckle and fold to the world and it’s religion anyway, even Cruz, but if you think Bernie Sanders ever has a point, then you’re no Christian.

If you see any truth in the sickening and slippery words of these American lady-bishops then you’re just picturing things.  Their faith is as thin as their silly outfits.  Somehow when Bishop Sheen dressed like that he seemed to appreciate it.  These guys look like they picked theirs up at the Halloween store.  Effeminate globalist state-agents have no business wearing bishops’ dresses.  They are pretenders who hate the true Church because they shepherd for it’s enemies.  Liberals always see complexity because they think it makes them smart, but nothing true is complicated.  A real bishop is a simple thing.

Can you be a faithful Catholic and advocate for women in combat?  You’d have to hate your own country to do such a thing, but Marco Rubio can’t say a word against it.  Is that pro-life?  Communists have been strapping guns on women for years.  If you have to fight and die alongside a woman then you’ve got nothing to fight for.  You’re just fodder in someone else’s game.  You’re killing and dying for an evil cause.

My wife teaches middle school.  She told me that next week is ‘fight week’.  She said the kids are all lining up into gangs and acting like dogs who can’t walk on a leash.  I asked her if it was the kids from the ghetto.  She said, “No, it’s all the Spanish kids.  There’s suddenly so many of them now that they just do what they did back in South America.  I wouldn’t send a kid to my school any more.”

Thank you Bishops.  Our local school is wrecked.   It’s OK because Jesus, right?

If you are one of those who agonize over Francis because you used to be faithful but now you’re confused, don’t.  There is a point to Francis.  Francis is there to herd the world into the Devil’s trough, in other words, to put liberals in power and help them with their goals.  I’ve been waiting for formerly Catholic sources to start openly pushing for liberals in the election.  Francis set the table and now it’s time to pay the piper.  Step one was to demonize faithful Catholics who resist the Francis.  Now we’re ‘trads,’ ‘conservatives,’ and anti-Catholic haters when three years ago we were just one of them.

Step two is the vote.  See here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Where we live the Catholic churches are all thirty minutes apart.  We had no time to rest this Sunday and were forced to attend what used to be the 5:30 LifeTeen Mass in our local parish.  I guess the teens have grown up.  We avoid the local Sunday Masses as much as possible because they’re offensive to to God and the Faith, but the late Mass is usually the worst of them all.  The last time we tried it, the Pastor stopped during procession and tried to pull off my poor wife’s mantilla.

So I was surprised when the 5:30 Mass was almost Catholic yesterday.  We had a visiting Salesian priest, but he didn’t act like one.  He didn’t say too many ridiculous things about St. John Bosco, and even though the band was stuffed into the sanctuary and in front of the priest and deacon, they weren’t so terrible at all.  They didn’t sing anything holy, but they didn’t sing anything ugly either.  I saw people there I hadn’t seen in a while.  The Church was pretty full.

I was looking forward to riding home knowing I’d survived, then it happened.  No final blessing was in store.  We were trapped.  The smarmy rah-rah professional youth director slipped in the side and started being funny, yelling at people from the pulpit, making wisecracks, and forcing us to keep raising our hands to say how much we liked hugs.  He had a new program we were all supposed to follow and take home.  It was a contest to see who could hug the most people during the week.

Next our notorious pastor appeared to hug the youth director twice and the two loudmouthed compadres teamed up to steal the last bit of Holy peace from our hearts before releasing us.  They let us know they were available for hugs in the back of the Church where you could also sign up for the contest.  The top huggers (I could already guess who they might be) would get a free copy of Rick Warren’s “A Purpose-Driven Life.”  That’s a Protestant book but hey, who cares!  They hug too.  It’s all about Jesus, see.

I looked up from my stint peering deep into the void to hear the final blessing.  Then I waited for the final number to hit some crescendo, gave my wife a haggard smile, and headed for the doors, then guess what?

I had been musing earlier about how when you get ready to leave a dog alone in a house it gets excited because it thinks it’s going with you.  It just doesn’t want to consider the fact that you’re leaving it there alone.  Why even dream of the bad news?  Dogs have hope.  That must be why I was so surprised to find one of our 86-year old deacons blocking the exit like a bride at the end of a wedding.  I waited my turn in line and tried to shake his hand instead.  I was half-joking, but I really didn’t want to hug that old guy.  My wife hugged him first then I cried, “I don’t wanna!” but it didn’t matter because he did wanna.  So I hugged and then I heard, “We’re huggers around here, OK?”

Nice.  Hug or stay out, you bastard.  Mother regularly asks me why I don’t become a deacon to which I respond, “That would mean working for a pastor and a bishop, right?”

It was an ecumenical moment of religious unity.  The NewChurch of Huggers shared a surprising merciful encounter of warmth and closeness with one of those Catholics (for whom hugs are selective).  All that was required was for the Catholic to honor and embrace the Hugger faith for no sin against unity to have occurred.

This is all about attracting the lost sheep, yes?  It’s not about driving away Catholics, no!

In  few years, when our parish church is a mosque and we drive an hour to the new megachurch near the airport, please tell me it won’t be like this.

I made it to 13:10.  “Oh, fer cute!”
