Ushering in the Church of Love, one heresy at a time.

Ushering in the Church of Love one heresy at a time.

The pseudo Church of all things loving, which is quite the opposite of the Catholic Faith, was once only a ridiculous ghost seen on television and in the minds of proud perverts.  Suddenly it has manifested, much like Bruce Jenner, into an frightening reality from one end of the Catholic world to the other.

The Boston Globe’s smug CruxMag usually tries to restrain its glee at the victories of the Church’s enemies.  It pretends to be somewhat Catholic in the hopes it will catch more flies.

Not anymore.

So what to make of same-sex attraction? The logic says: Since sexuality is inextricably linked to procreation, sex that is non-procreative is disordered. Good logic, but an invalid conclusion. Why? Because of our current understanding of the origins of homosexuality.

If it is not chosen, if it is something that seems to be (as current science continues to demonstrate) as much a part of human personality as opposite-sex attraction, then it is part of how God created a person. To suggest that an involuntary orientation deeply linked to the need for human connection and relationship was put there by God but meant to be suppressed and unused is to depict God as a wicked prankster placing insupportable, arbitrary obstacles in the path of people for whom he supposedly has infinite, creative love.

And here’s where we start to see the dead end of this chain of reasoning — this branch of the tree has just gone as far as it can grow, and is no longer contributing to the life of the whole. Regardless of whether anecdote and data are singular and plural, wherever I look and listen, there is someone who is troubled by the fact that a young person whom they love is more and more alienated from the Church because of the current teaching on homosexuality and same-sex marriage. If, as the current polling data seem to show, young people are dropping away at increasing, even unprecedented, rates on account of this issue, then this branch of the tree is literally a dead end.But another branch is producing real fruit, and it is that branch to which those supporters of same-sex marriage who still identify deeply with Christian tradition — with the “Church” in its full, proper meaning — are looking when they politely or impolitely defy public condemnation of same-sex marriage by clerics of their Church and march or vote in favor of it.

But make no mistake — they are being “swayed by their Church.” They know perfectly well that “their Church” preaches “This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (Jn. 13:35). They know that their Church preaches “God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in them” (1 Jn. 4:16).

They look at the same-sex couples they know who seek to be married, and they see mutuality, and commitment, and fidelity, sometimes in the face of overwhelming vitriol and resistance.

They see relationships that welcome and nurture children.

They see love. And they know what their Church preaches about that.

Our world today is everything gay everywhere all the time.  We have transgender country singers, gay football players, men crying and whining on television, pronoun enforcers and kids punished for having a gender.  No one is permitted to speak against it.  Any communications will get you fired or sued.  Gay is never a choice, as if people were snails.

Few are actually committed to being gay so why this enormous worldwide push from our overlords?  What is their end game? How far will they reach into our Church?  What will it be when they are through?

If this place isn't really Catholic then it must be mine.

If this place isn’t really Catholic then it must be mine.

Why are all the liberal leaders, the statist oppressors, and the tyrants singing the same Pope Francis tune?  Breitbart’s Charles Spiering reveals how Church enemy President Barack Obama made the most of the platform fake-Catholic Georgetown University gave him:

President Obama suggested that people of faith should focus more on helping the poor, instead of focusing on divisive issues such as gay marriage and abortion.

During a panel discussion on poverty at Georgetown University, Obama specifically referred to his own Christian faith, pointing out that he recognized the importance speaking out about the issue as president.

“I think it would be powerful for our faith-based organizations to speak out on this in a more forceful fashion,” he said, admitting that his wish might sound “self-interested” because he had disagreements with Christian and Catholic organizations about gay marriage and abortion.

Powerful for who?  The entire world is reporting today the complete collapse of mainline Christian Churches, of which the FrancisChurch is a whole-hearted conspirator.  This ‘powerfulness’ will only help Obama and his world partners.  That’s the essence of our current scandalous pontificate.

I love how he tosses in that ‘might sound self-interested.’  These world leaders are really picking up that humility schtick.

“There is great caring and great concern, but when it comes to what are you really going to the mat for, what’s the defining issue … this is often times viewed as a ‘nice to have’ relative to an issue like abortion,” Obama said.

He argued that churches should spend more time pursuing “powerful” ideas such as helping those in poverty in order to attract more followers.

“Nobody has shown that better than Pope Francis, who I think has been transformative just through the sincerity and insistence that this is vital to who we are, this is vital to following what Jesus Christ our Savior talked about.”

Wow, don’t forget your point man, Pope Francis – the ringer!  Have you ever heard a more complete and ‘transformative’ set of knock-off lines?  Why do all these politicians sound like they’re suppressing a giggle when they mention Jesus “Christ Our Savior?”  Satan couldn’t speak His name with more controlled contempt.

Obama added that he hoped that the American people received that message when Pope Francis visits the United States in September.

“I can’t wait to host him because I think it will help to spark an even broader conversation of the sort we are having today,” Obama concluded.

Don’t worry Obama. He’ll deliver the goods.  And as an added bonus the true faithful will disappear overnight in the awful FrancisEra.

Hello burgeoning ex-Christian constituency!

Sharing love and joy at important events

Catholic Vote has just republished the assertion that Florida Senator Marco Rubio has returned to his Cuban Catholic roots.  Just the other day he was reported to ‘crave the Blessed Sacrament.’

It’s not unusual for people to claim to be Catholics yet in reality be some form of Protestant, but Sen. Rubio seems really to be embracing a ‘big tent Christianity.’  His wife attends a Baptist megachurch, where he is a regular contributing member.

Can one be both Protestant and Catholic?

As an adult, from 2000 to 2004 Rubio took a detour from his Catholic roots to exclusively attend Miami’s Christ Fellowship, a Southern Baptist megachurch to which Rubio has given at least $50,000.

Now straddling both Christ Fellowship and the Catholic Church, Marco Rubio seems positioned to appeal both to conservative Catholics but also the anti-LGBT, demon-casting, creationist segment of the Protestant evangelical right.

Though he’s now primarily and “firmly” Catholic, Rubio has recently toldReligion News Service reporter Sarah Pulliam-Bailey that he has “maintained the relationship with Christ Fellowship” and often attends services at the church.

At CatholicVote they say Marco Rubio goes to Mass every Sunday and to the Baptist Megachurch too!

Why no reference to a Catholic parish?

Marco Rubio had perhaps the most fascinating journey of them all. He was born in Miami and his Catholic parents were both born in Communist Cuba. When he was about 8, his family moved to Las Vegas. And for awhile the Rubio family became Mormon. By the time Marco was in sixth grade, his family left the Mormon Church. He received Holy Communion on Christmas Day 1984. When the family returned to Miami a year later, he received the sacrament of Confirmation. His wife encouraged him to start attending an evangelical church in 2000 — and they exclusively for several years. “I felt called back to Catholicism around 2004,” he said. When Rubio ran for the Senate in 2010, there was confusion about whether he was evangelical or Catholic. I spoke with Rubio’s spokesman JR Sanchez in 2010. Sanchez told me that Rubio went to Mass every Sunday but that he also attended services at the evangelical church. As noted by religion writer Sarah Pulliam Bailey, Rubio himself later confirmed this in his memoir.

It’s not hard to see how many Catholics today can make no real distinction between the Mass and Protestant services.  If they have no other exposure to the Faith, they’re fair game for all kinds of silly trendy ideas.

Today from Politico:

Marco Rubio says he would attend the wedding of a same-sex couple, even though the Republican Florida senator and newly minted presidential candidate has said he believes marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

Fusion host Jorge Ramos pressed Rubio on Wednesday about whether he would go to the same-sex ceremony of someone in his family or someone on his staff who happens to be gay.

“Happens to be gay”  You sure hear that a lot, as if it were all some casual accidental occurrence.

“If there’s somebody that I love that’s in my life, I don’t necessarily have to agree with their decisions or the decisions they’ve made to continue to love them and participate in important events,” he told Ramos.

Terrific.  If it’s an ‘important event,’ then by all means participate.  It’s all about love the Bible says.
