If Francis committed mortal sin by breaking his jesuit vows can he be absolved in confession? Gut reaction is only the Pope could absolve him and he is the alleged Pope. Whew. So he is correcting all Church morals and doctrine while in a state of mortal sin? Any priest can absolve the Pope. The authority to forgive sins comes from Christ through the Church to the priests, not from Christ to the Pope to those who delegates it to.
Maybe it will be best for Francis to try to “ban” the TLM if he has the cajones to do it, we need to get the formal schism defined rather than frannie’s passive aggressive word games like “rigid” and “corporphragia” or however it’s spelled, don’t even care to look it up.
There is no formal schism, yet. Who leads it, if so? What we have is a Church led by confused clerics who need to embrace the faith.
If francis would just say these words “I know my predecessor said this (choose one) but I say this: blah blah, heresy”, he could be declared a formal hereitc and we the faithful could force him to step down. It has to happen sometime, His reign will end, that I do know.
