Why don’t you simply quote what he wrote. It’s not difficult. And there won’t be any confusion. It is obvious that he is speaking of the arguments, not the people. And is obvious that you are turning it into something it’s not.
I’m worried that Steve is coming apart — emotionally, I mean, not theologically or canonically or whatever. His dutiful obedience to the commandment to honor-thy-father no matter what, smacks of emotional desperation. For the sake of his family, I hope he survives this mano a mano he is engaged in. For his sake, I pray he drops the argument of who is pope and hands that stick of dynamite over to Our Lady to sort out. He should stick to putting together a good blog that is worth reading.
I’m concerned for Steve. He clearly is a man who intends to contribute his effort to the cause we are all involved in, examining what is going on in our wrecked church and trying to help. His blog is something that as far as I remember, has replaced his income stream from employment (I could be wrong about this) and he has a number of children to support. He puts a lot into 1P5. For my part if he believes Jorge is pope, God bless him, he has a right to his conclusions. For all I know, he is, despite being a rotten apostate. Why should I worry about what’s above my pay grade? I stopped listening to the man years ago. He’s irrelevant to me personally.
Steve is asking for a huge defense against the argument he disagrees with, not a personal attack. I dislike the circular firing squad very much and wish it would go away. The last thing all need is a bickering war.
