Bishop Stika wants us to play dumb for fear of becoming heretics like Luther? How could he have missed his alleged pope’s praises of Luther as one whose insights we owe so much and who was sadly misunderstood? You are correct, Mister Walker. The Bishop who is one in spirit with a heretic, yet warns faithful Catholics of becoming heretical for rejecting heretics, is not honest. I do not believe that he is unable to see, therefore he is dishonest and probably scared.
Why would we fear disunity more than turning away from the true Church founded by Jesus Christ? There can be no unity between Truth and lie.
Living in such extreme cognitive dissonance must hurt. No wonder we cannot count on the guidance of our pastors. If I were constantly suffering this level of dissonance and hypocrisy, I do not know how I could get up from bed or speak with anybody. Writing a pastoral letter!? – Can you imagine the difficulty?
