Dear Mr. Walker-
Please forgive me but I think your post is rubbish. I say this because it totally ignores some relevant facts:
1) Who usually says the Saturday 5 PM Mass? … Fr. Scott Haynes, S.J.C.!!!
2) What kind of Holy Mass is said on Saturday evening? … English Novus Ordo!!!
3) Do you really think the Cardinal is going to concern himself with three brothers?
… If he has an agenda towards the Canons he would leave the brothers be. Wouldn’t he be inclined let the Canons spend the money to support these men, Pay for their tuition (especially at Mundelein @ $40,000 per seminarian because Canons are not diocesan seminarians whose tuition is paid for by the archdiocese) ? He probably would be more inclined to delay or refuse ordination when that time comes if he has such an vendetta against the Canons.
What is the connection between 3 brothers leaving and Fr. Scott leaving because Fr. Scott is being pressured by the Cardinal to say the Novus Ordo Mass?
So no, lets not blame the Cardinal on this one.
Cupich is only following the lead of his protege, Pope Francis, who destroyed the FFI.
The conversation buzzing among parishioners last weekend is the conflict resides internally. Upon Phillips dismissal, Cupich permitted the order to appoint the interim superior and eventual elect a superior from inside the order. Cupich could have appoint a diocesan priest to replace Phillips, but was gracious to let the order elect their own superior. Interim superior Fr. Thelander, recently fired an organist and now Fr. Haynes is gone along with several brothers. It sounds to me like a conflict within the order.
While the Canons execute the liturgy with precision and beauty, the order is stagnant. The newest canon still there arrived four years ago. They appears unable to draw members or keep them. Problem?
Well what could that possibly be? Ego conflict? “Office Politics”? All I know is that all of a sudden Father Hayes was gone…and many people are devastated.
There is something seriously wrong going on here. The music personnel keep on receiving emails with contradicting information about the whereabouts of Fr. Scott and the reason he left. When I hear different excuses for the one problem, that tells me that clearly, there is something ‘they’ do not want the public to know … that makes it even worse and open to speculations.
Kevin Allen has my deepest sympathy, he believes he is inheriting a marvelous choir and orchestra but this could not be further from reality. He stepping into a huge pile of dodo and is unaware that the entire choir is about to walk away if they do not get straight answers.
The choir, the organist, the orchestra and Fr. Scott were one team. You get rid of the man at the helm and the entire team will disintegrate. Who ever fired Fr. Scott and Fr. Phillips -on bogus charges- is responsible for Cantius parish to collapse.
Sad, sad, sad day.
How many emails were sent out? I’m a parishioner and have only received one. Do you know the musicians?
Update: all professional musicians have been fired and the planned program has been scrapped, totally. And now watch the fireworks, Cantius will die by attrition.

No one knows because they didn’t release it so everything is speculation. If you have real provable information please do tell. If not shut up.

Secondly ask any priest off the record… Cupich has one goal…zero obedience is what the faithful owe to the Cardinal. Pray daily for the failure of Cardinal Cupich. Its sad but true Cantius has probably a year left at most. Keep Fr Phillips in prayer for if he were to pass from his recent heart attack the Cardinal could seriously be facing criminal charge of involuntary mamslaughter…

State of Affairs.
Fr. Scott has been asked to leave over 6 months ago. How long should he be waiting for a decision to be made about his fate by The Powers That Be?
It seems to me that he is being shunned by the church ad vitam eternam- out of sight, out of mind. Maybe They are hoping he will somehow vanish?
What I find unacceptable is that a priest who is found guilty of molesting children is simply transferred to another parish, but a priest who pleads for a more formal music program during mass is dismissed without any means of support and simply forgotten. Sent

I do not know where Fr. Brendan is, but I know Fr. scott is not there.
I am not a fan of Cardinal Cupich (Democrat masquerading as a priest) but the Cardinal just approved the Order’s Constitutions. Why would he do that if he is trying to destroy them?
To accommodate himself?
St.John Cantius is still functioning as before. Where are all of you loudmouths saying it is finished?
