I don’t understand Barnhardt’s claim about kneelers at Bp. Vaughn’s cathedral. I counted what appears to be at least a half dozen of them. To make sure I wasn’t seeing things, I Googled it and found a piece in which Vaughn even discusses the pews and kneelers they’ve installed at the cathedral.
Frank, I appreciate that ‘pied piper of nobody’ phrase! Whether or not you intended it… it fits my understanding of your site, and the basis on which I have recommended it… the news aggregation aspect. It’s a kind of neutrality and it resembles how I tend to communicate: the ultimate ‘fyi’ type of thing – take it or leave it, not sending this to open a discussion about it, etc. I kind of now just accept that that’s the way I am as far as communicating goes. I visit your site on and off; sometimes a deluge of visits, other time, scarcely any to none. It all has to do with my degree of recollection, as the site can produce feelings of stress and tension in my heart and soul. Information is great! But… one must know where it fits into one’s own spiritual life and sense of direction, if there is any unwanted tension it will have to do with not being able to do anything about what has been learned, in my case anyway.
Oh, but you can always pray. 🙂
I love this site, and appreciate your important contribution to the Catholic world right now and to many, personally.
I find most people either are ignoring what is going on in the Catholic AND secular world, probably because as Jack Nicholson said, “they can’t handle the truth”. I only know one person I can actually have an in-depth conversation with about either, my husband. He’s the only one I personally know who is a) interested and b) able to take the discussion. Many people prefer conversation about fluffy bunnies, even when there are ravenous wolves. They don’t want to know.
I get it! I’d like to live there too, and I do when I can, but we have hard truths we simply must know, because we have decisions to make, every Catholic has decisions to make. Every time a Catholic goes to a Novus Ordo Mass or any Mass and drops in a check or cash, they must ask themselves if they are funding apostasy or Catholicism, and where is Truth to be found, in the TLM or in being told what a rotten specimen you are because you believe Europe has been Islamized and you don’t want to see that happen in your own homeland.
So we can’t hide, and can’t pretend it is 1960, although I dearly wish it was.
So thank you for the job you do and for doing it so well. Hearing you discuss the goings on is informative AND consoling. God bless you and your work and yes, God save the church.
