Last December, J.B. declared 2021 as “the Year of St. Joseph.” We should have thought this most odd, given that “the Year of Tutti Fratelli” or “the Year of Amoris Laetitia” would have been more obviously aligned with his Socialist agenda. But then, after a bit of research, we can see how it all diabolically fits together.
Since the 19th century, the 1st of May was declared International Workers’ Day. In 1889, the hundredth anniversary of the fall of the Bastille, many leaders of revolutionary movements came to Paris to form an international organization of workers, patterned after the one formed 25 years earlier by Marx and Engels. May 1st was known as “International Workers’ Day,” eventually to become purely Communistic under the “Red Armies” and red flags of China’s Mao, Soviet Union’s Stalin, Cuba’s Castros, and the Kims of North Korea. The open struggle for Socialism was “celebrated” in mass demonstrations and large-scale strikes in the name of “social change and international peace.” In the early 20th century publication, The Weekly Worker, it was written: “May Day – the day which inspires fear in the hearts of the capitalists and hope in the workers…is dedicated to the Revolution.” “The road is clear for greater achievements, and in the United States as elsewhere in the world the future belongs to Communism.”
But May Day is also the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. In Italy, for example, on his March and May holidays, the faithful gather and wear red clothing; great tables of free food and wine are laid out everywhere for the poor; his statue is publicly exhibited with symbols of his carpentry (hammer, sickle, axe, sawdust). How plausible for the Vicar of Stunts and Cognitive Dissonance to make the “Year of St. Joseph” a clandestine salute to Communism.
