Mr. Walker, excellent point on the fact that this feast day is a quagmire for the modernists!
This Gloria.tv article defines what bothers me about the recent FSSP announcement and rejoicings.
First, I think there is a lot of wishful thinking in what they *say* Bishop of Rome Bergoglio has granted them. I see in their little letter from him verbal assurances, nothing canonical that is written down for posterity.
Second, what is said today can be un-said tomorrow. A letter today can be “clarified” tomorrow. Promises made today, promises withdrawn tomorrow. Sorry, FSSP … you call this man Pope and, he is who he is.
Third, assuming everything in the letter is rock solid and everything you dream it will be – what about the rest of Christendom? What about the other Orders and Institutes? What about the heroic Diocesan Priests who struggle harder than any other Priests to bring Tradition into the Den of Lions? Great for you, but what about the rest of us?
Fourth, you completely miss the most important point of all: the Tridentine Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is not subject to permissions from any earthly or even angelic authority. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass transcends Bishop of Rome Bergoglio and his promises made or broken are not relevant. Everyone within the Catholic Church (the actual Church of Sacred Tradition) should insist on this premise – *the Tridentine Mass is the only Mass; New™️Mass is not valid; The Holy Sacrifice must be offered in every Church in every corner of the globe forever*.
It should not be about special permissions granted and special conditions to this that or another. There should be no satisfaction in winning personal reprieve while others suffer. The Catholic Faith, whole and entire, belongs to every Catholic – now as before and forever. That is the point of SSPX Superior Fr. Pagliarani’s letter: Tradition belongs to us all; it is sacred, holy, from God, guaranteed, our Patrimony.

We should all suffer, when anyone suffers within Holy Mother Church. And there is so much suffering within the grand scope of dishonesty and destruction. Name the true Pope. Demand the Tridentine Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for all – give God’s Liturgy its proper pride of place everywhere. Nothing less than that. Less = Idolatry.
