I don’t agree with Ann Barnhart’s assessment that more people will think Francis is pope following the consecration. This boils down to authority and his position as the recognized leader, and, as you said, unity. We know God uses some of the most despicable people to effect His Will. The consecration will probably be no different. We need to pray that it does fulfill the Fatima Requests. God bless.
Francis’ stunt reminds me of Lincoln’s stunt to emancipate the slaves. The aim of the Proclamation was to disunify the South by turning the slaves against their masters. It failed because the slaves were more loyal to their masters than expected. I wondered about Fatima if it would be offensive to the Orthodox Church, so I Googled that issue and found out that it does! After all, if they are true believers, then they would see it as an encroachment upon their territory. So with that in mind, what we have is Francis calling for the Consecration in order to divide the Orthodox faithful from the Orthodox Francis priests. Looks like a good move to unify the NWO religious movement under Rome.
I am also suspicious concerning the fruits of Fatima. First of all, what about these “secrets”. Is the Church supposed to harbor “secrets”? Is this what Jesus taught who said, “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest” Lk 8:17 and in Matthew, “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light” Mt.10:27. In His Olivet Discourse Christ also said, Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold…..he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.” Mt.24:26. Can you say surrounding all of this is a “mass” of confusion. And what about the rubrics? Are there any rubrics to this vision, because there must be because everyone is arguing about how the Consecration is to be performed. So if there are, who laid them out? Should not the Church has a specified form? This is just more material for confusion and argument, especially by the laity who are coming forward to fill in the gap left by the hierarchy.
Maybe the real fruit of all of this will be people in the Catholic church becoming “woke” to the clerical manipulation that has been crafted upon them.
I have always had reservations about Fatima for many reasons. For example;
rubrics; an angel gave the 3 children communion at the first visit. Angels don’t have consecrated hands and in the supernatural order would an angel handle Christ in the Eucharist? To this layman it seems contrary. I concur on the secrets as well; a message for global salvation is given in some code? Clearly the 20th century Church is and has lived in a Fatima paradigm. To even whisper softly any critique or question its authenticity is essentially heretical in most Catholic circles from the liberals all the way to the Sedes. I firmly believe there will emerge in time a new/old paradigm that will flow directly from the source and summit of the Faith; His true presence. God willing the errors of Marin Luther, the schism of East/West and bringing the heathen into fold will become a priority rather than picking sides in a border dispute with cataclysmic possibilities.
