Leftists like to pose that they favor the Peoples over government, and therefor they favor defunding the police – representative of the power of government.
In reality what they favor is destruction of the Rule Of Law, derivative of the will of the People who enact law through the Constitutional process – duly enacted laws which are enforced by our public servants the police on behalf of the People they represent: “Protect And Serve”, they say. Leftists don’t want that – law, derivative of the will of the People, duly enacted. Defund the Police. Executive Orders. Bypass Legislature and Courts. The Great Reset. Will to power.
So they defund the Peoples’ friend and ally, the police and crash our system of Constitutional government.
What they favor is dictatorial power – rule by fiat – and the power to impose their will by military force.
Very simple. Constitutional government is ended. In its place is a single Dictator, some call him or her El Jéfe – The Chief, The Boss. And at his or her command is a military force designed to enforce El Jéfe’s dictats. This force is unconstrained by law or tradition or judicial precedent or civil service code. They are created by El Jéfe, for El Jéfe. And they will use as much force as necessary to win against their enemy …. which are the people El Jéfe rules – us.
To wit, observe Kathy Hochul, Governor of New York:
“Hochul also announced that a new ‘Office of Counterterrorism’ would be created within the State Police with an exclusive focus on “domestic terrorism,” which would be required to monitor social media for evidence of violent tendencies and extremist ideology”.
They have defined average American citizens asserting their rights, under the sacred Bill of Rights, as domestic terrorists – to be crushed by the new military power she has taken for herself.
And so – that is the exchange: a police force constrained by Law, precedent and the Judiciary … for a military force constrained by nothing more than the will of El Jéfe Hochul and her mood on any given day.
This is bad. Not a good trade, at all. We need to reclaim our Constitutional System, which is the essence of America.
