Now this is actually funny. Bergoglio, actually sawed off the branch he was sitting on. I always wondered if he would. He did.
His latest “Encyclical” is titled Guardians of Tradition (for those stuck in the dead, distant past, the Latin translation is Traditionis Custodes).
In his talk yesterday to educators about education he emphasized how important it was to *not* be a guardian of Tradition.

“What is the Sacred Deposit of Faith (depositum fidei)? The teachings of the Catholic Church that are handed down since the time of the Apostles – namely scripture and sacred tradition.”
Bergoglio sees conflict where there really isn’t any. If he were Catholic, he would know that “development” within the Sacred Deposit of Faith is built in – it is organic … it grows because it is alive in God who is its Author. *But it never, never changes*.
He thinks he’s come up with something new and clever: “the old and new converge and creates a new humanism”. What he’s really done is take the entire Deposit of Faith and …. deposited it in the trash can as a useless relic relied on by sectarians; while he represents the vanguard of humanist aspiration. Yeah, whatever. Nobody cares about your glorious humanism, actually. That’s why the parallel church is dying.
Meanwhile – the actual Guradians of Tradition, those faithful to the Sacred Deposit of Faith, binding in its entirety down to the last punctuation mark, enjoy communion with the Saints of the past, present and who look forward to communion wi the Saints of the future they will meet someday – all participants in the one, true Faith which never changes, nor can it change because it is perfect, because it comes from God. It is, in fact, a little slice of heaven – this Sacred Deposit of Faith which we true Guardians guard against destroyers like Bergoglio.
The gig is up, Bishop Bergoglio: not guradians *of* tradition … you represent the guardians *against* tradition.
I just finished watching Dan Curtis’ historically graphic 12-part series on World War II, “War and Remembrance.”
When the film was made in the 1980’s, people thought of the Axis powers as dead and gone, a horror of the past which the Allies had overcome. But, watching the series today, you can immediately see history repeating itself as godless, power-mad fanatics unite and broadcast from their respective Eagles’ Nests and Wolf’s Lairs that they are creating a “purified” new world, that they are the “vanguard of humanist aspiration” to be built on fear, destruction, and diabolical cruelty, a Himmleresque “final solution.”
If only today we had a Pius XI and a Pius XII, a Vatican Underground, an Omar Bradley or Eisenhower, and the likes of De Gaulle and Churchill.
