Reading about the “muted” Vatican reaction to the Dobbs ruling against universal abortion access and their parallel strong reaction against the death penalty and for gun restrictions, it struck me … the Catholic Church doesn’t evangelize for Christ. At all. Who anywhere advances the Cross of our Redeemer and presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our Mother Mary, Mediatrix of ALL Graces to a lost, suffering, dying world, nearly every one of which is almost certainly going to hell? Who?
The Catholic Church has publically stated advocacy positions on every political issue under the sun. They are strong advocates of forced injections of experimental DNA altering substances against our conscience and will. They favor totalitarian communist governments over Christian based representative governments. They favor the collapse of morality, the advance of sin – a bacchanal of depravity according to whatever one chooses. These consume their every waking moment.
But conversion of sinners? The Gospel of Jesus Christ that transforms the dead to the living? Taking up one’s Cross? Submission in humility to God? Dying to the world, living for Christ? Participation in the universal constant Magisterium of the RCC, Body of Christ? Kingship of Christ on earth now, as in Heaven? Not a peep.
We miss this essential fact, amidst all the whirlwind of destructive activity in our own midst – Jesus Christ King, and Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the saving power of the Gospel is conspicuously absent from planet earth.

Fr. David Nix (Padre Peregrino) has an excellent little article on true obedience, rightly ordered. In it he places obedience within an hierarchy or responsibility in which superiors have authority, but not exclusive and total authority. We are not allowed to make up our own rules. Similarly, we are not allowed to servilely just do whatever is commanded – it must be properly ordered to higher law.

It recalls from Catechism the rule for children to “honor, love and obey our parents in all things that is not sin”. Bishops, Pastors, magistrates, teachers, other lawful superiors are similarly attached to this law. Mom and Dad cannot command their child to sell crack on the street corner for them; prostitute themselves for money; steal the neighbors yard sign (etc).
There is an hierarchy of authority within Holy Mother Church (the only ultimately true reality) consisting of seven layers of authority … ecclesiastical authority (Papal, Apostolic, familial) is down the chain a bit at number four. Eternal Law; Revealed Divine Law; Natural Las occupy places one, two and three.
The Pope (for instance) has zero authority to supersede his will above that of God and His Laws. The Pope cannot command sin. The Pope cannot take what does not belong to him, neither can he command Laymen to commit sin or participate in acts of rebellion against God. A Bishop or Cardinal cannot remove authority to pray the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at Calvary, guaranteed for all time. The list goes on, and it is easy to apply to anything.
Once you step back from current sinful authority to see God, His Laws and the Constant Magisterium that guarantees it then those sinful actors – whether parents commanding their children to sin, or Bishops commanding the Faithful to sin – who command obedience in rebellion are easily “recognized and resisted”.
This is not a matter of opinion. It is even in the current Catechism – 2217; as you would expect from any Catechism that is true and in accord with the Magisterium.
It might be easier for me to understand this concept of *obedience rightly ordered* than for other Catholics, given my prior military experience.
In my day we used incidents like the My Lai massacre to illustrate the limits on obedience by subordinates to the orders of superiors, regardless how high the rank. All members of the military were responsible to know the UCMJ and the Constitution above it and no member of the military could violate them, no matter the circumstances of superior authority.
This Vietnam War massacre of My Lai civilians is the perfect example of a superior directing an inferior to commit not just “a sin” but a capital offense war crime.

The thing is, following orders did not excuse any of the perpetrators. They were all guilty before Military, Man and God.
The proper military response to the choice *jail* or *crime* is jail.
The proper Catholic response to the choice *excommunication* or *heresy* is excommunication.

Fr. De Pauw – an 11 minute video, precisely defines why every Catholic not only may … but *MUST* … disobey the illegal “orders” of the antipope Bergoglio and all modern day Apostles who are commanding Catholics to disobey God Almighty by abandoning the Tridentine Mass of Pope St. Pius V.
The Dogmatic Council of Trent gave Pope Pius V its will that he produce a Holy Mass for all time, in conformity with the Mass of Ages connected to the first Martyrs in the Catacombs and every generation since.
This he did. And *FORBADE* *ANYONE* *EVER* from changing the Mass or taking it away, for all time, forever, no exceptions.

As in my example above … to comply with their illegal, evil order to abandon the TLM (as the gravest of all similar orders) is to accept the gravest of all sins, worse than murder – abandonment of Christ in Hos Holy Mass.
