The problem with this premise is that it places the blame for current cold civil war on Trump; on his personality. I really find that offensive, actually. It’s like blaming the woman’s bad cooking for the abuse she gets from her spouse – “What’d ya expect, babe? Ya know I like my eggs over easy. Why’d ya give ’em (scratch, scratch, pick his nose) to me well done, huh? huh? huh? I didn’t wanna hurt you”!
This political train wreck is very much like the train wreck in the Church, in that it has been building for a long, long time. No one has cared to notice that the only reason there’s peace in society (the Church) is that good people just don’t care enough in their comforts to do anything about the obvious problems with a “spouse” (political partner) who is a shove and increasingly violent. “Just make nice; take what you want; I don’t really care; I’m sorry, it’s all my fault … etc”.
We’ve been abused for a long time and I (for one) have had enough. The RINO Republicans bring the peace of the surrender caucus. Just give the vandals everything, express frustrations and anger about it on Fox, then go back to work th next day giving them more and express frustration and sadness about the losses over and over and over. Laura Ingraham wants more of that. So does Dick Cheney, Bush, Romney and the rest of them.
Abraham Lincoln had all sorts of Generals in the early days of the Civil War who looked good on a horse and had tons of military credentials. They lost with grace, over and over and over. Then he brought in US Grant, alcoholic, failed business man, low ranking in his West Point class. And the man was a bull dog. “Why did he choose Grant?”, he was asked. “The man fights”, he replied.
Trump fights. We have to win this. We are at the last hill. Time to take back terrain.
