2 Thoughts on “Canon212 Update: The MonsterPress Hypes World Francis Day

  1. Saint Louis Catholic ran a simple photograph on his blog. A picture, they say, can be worth a thousand words. In this case – it makes the essential point of the new Papal reality. And then it demands from the viewer to make their judgement. You cannot remain neutral (or innocent, imo) after viewing this picture.

This is the essence of the current Catholic crisis. Even if you don’t see it as a crisis, it is the essence of the revolution, that is changing everything from what was to what is – which is fundamentally different.

We have (had) two Popes, by design and by acclaim, for the first time since Christ established His Church. Christ established the Rock as one. We have a different and “better” idea than God. Our modern times require a modern Papacy and so we have remade the Papacy from what God gave us to something more practical and useful.

And so, as the commenter “Terry” in the comments below the photo represents – some think two Popes greeting each other in mutual filial love and respect is “beautiful”. The fact that the “active” Pope is kissing the Fisherman’s ring of the contemplative Pope is a subtle act of love and respect.

But then, as my comment indicates, I see the same picture, the same facts, and feel instant visceral revulsion – similar to that which I feel when I see a picture of a beautiful “woman” … who is actually a man. Both are corruptions of the natural order.

And so – the picture above, from Saint Louis Catholic’s blog is a type of Rorschach Test: one sees the new reality and sees beauty; the other sees it and sees corruption and the source of our disobedience.

Ah, Munich’s own Rainbow Minister nevers disappoints!
In March of last year, Cardinal Reinhard Marx infamously celebrated a high Mass marking “twenty years of queer worship and pastoral care.” The prelate sermonized thus: “The kingdom of God is to discover that God is Love — in all its dimensions…All human relationships must be marked by the primacy of Love. Then they can be accepted by God,” he said. He called for a “dynamic of openness” that should characterize the “Synodal Way” of the Catholic Church in Germany, saying that this was what Pope Francis meant when he emphasized the value of going forward to “discover what the Spirit has to say to us today.”
Then as now, Marx’s archdiocese offers dedicated weekends and retreats for LGBTQ, including big parties for very wealthy aristocratic donors and gay celebrities like Archduke Franz von Bayern.

But Marx is no stranger to stunts. Anyone remember when he pretended to stand up to Francis and quit due to feigned disappointment in the Church’s sex abuse responses? Of course “the bishop of bling” (as he is known) would never have thrown away a job that nets $200,000 a year, an $87,000 BMW, and rent-free residence at the hallowed baroque Holnstein Palace, just renovated for almost 12 ½ million dollars! One of the paintings hanging in its salons among priceless frescoes and Venetian chandeliers is of Karl Marx himself.
Let’s not forget that Marx owns a $13 million dollar luxury villa in Rome, recently upgraded for another 5 ¼ million dollars. He calls it his “guesthouse” for “diverse and global interdiocesan ecclesiastical duties.” It is to be a “place of international exchange …and will welcome believers from different cultures and promote mutual understanding…”
What could be more ironic than, already a decade ago, the German Church being one of the wealthiest entities, faith-based or not, in the world. As for the Synodal Path, if nothing else, it is fully paved with Euros, Yuans, and Dollars.
