He is ok with some of the aspirations of Traditional wives and marriage. He admits he and his wife believe in and practice many traditional Catholic marriage practices themselves:
“I should note that my own marriage has followed more traditional roles pretty closely: my wife happily left her outside job when we had our first child, and she has stayed home throughout our marriage as the primary caregiver for our seven children (also homeschooling them along the way). He just feels uncomfortable when others practice it, others write and talk about it, others quantify what it means in practical terms to be traditional in marriage, a traditional wife:

Well obviously you did keep some kind of track, Eric, because you came up with an approximate number.
If only we could all be more like Eric. He knows the proper limits and best practices so we don’t get carried away and too crazy in our devotion to God.
Hopefully he can start a podcast so my wife and I can start listening to his advice every week (is every day too much to hope for?) for his best guidance on how to live our lives, specifically on how my wife can live her best life. Because he obviously has it all figured out. Without that help … my wife and I, married for 32 years, eight kids, might just go off the deep-end into the Trad swimming pool – and who then can save us?!
