How ridiculous, a statue of a fatally wounded Ukrainian”dove of peace” presented to Leo for his pity, sorrow, and solicitude by the Archbishop of Kiev. Seems like only yesterday we saw Leo blithely riding around in north Lebanon, as jubilant street mobs released dozens of live “doves of peace” which, obviously disoriented, smashed into his windshield or got crushed under the wheels of the papal caravan.
Instead of his photo op with a stone idol of a bird, Leo should have commemorated the feast of the Roman martyr St. Valentine who, for practicing and defending the Faith, had been almost stoned to death before his beheading.
May St.Valentine on this day help us take a stand against those subservient to idolatrous sentimentalism and hype.
