2 Thoughts on “Canon212 Update: Knights of Malta Leader Dead? How Convenient

  1. Fr. Zuhlsdorf is none to pleased that Gloria.tv had negative things to say about turning a Roman Oratory (Caravita) into a dining hall. He demands an apology. Uuhhh, no.

It’s as if, in all of Rome, there is no other place to feed the poor. Rome is so crowded and destitute, that, if they didn’t use this space, we’ll, they’d likely go hungry. Again. He must think that. There is nowhere else to go for lunch. It just HAS to be in the Oratory, in front of the altar … the one covered with all the Pachamama plants. So many Cardinals live in Rome. Perhaps … they might open their homes to the poor, before impinging on Almighty God (whose Altar is, btw, covered in Pachamama plants). I understand their homes are huge. Social gatherings are …. common. Why not open the door to these hungry in THEIR own homes? Or even the Priest’s; or Parishioners? Or … the snack room downstairs, if no one can be bothered?

The glory of God is first.
    Feeding the hungry is second.
    These are not exclusive.
We have an entire world in which to feed the poor.
We have reserved sacred spaces for God.
Judas was angry at the waste of Mary Magdalene – “how much money could have been given to the poor instead of wasting it on expensive perfume”.
Love the Lord thy God is the greatest commandment.
The second is *like unto it* – love your neighbor as yourself.

The desecrations in the RCC continue. That’s all this is – another in a long line of desecrations and sacreliges. It only goes one way these days. That’s why, *no apology*. Many of us are at the end of tolerance for these outrages. Gloria.tv speaks for me.

Dear Mr. Walker; God save the Church indeed! Re: Gloria TV; I support both Fr. Z. AND GloriaTV. They both do great work (as do you, mostly 😀 ), but I have to side with Fr. Z on his complaint about the Gloria “cafeteria” story. Gloria went too far. Regarding the “optics,” isn’t that what’s got us into trouble over and over again since Vat II? —being more concerned about “what doesn’t look right” than doing what is honest, true and good? God bless! jf
