“Lying and Death go together.” What a profound statement on which all of us would do well to meditate in these times when the inclusive, corrosive kingdom of the AntiChrist is inexorably being made manifest !
“He [Satan] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
The first lie in recorded history, Satan tells Eve in the Garden of Eden that she can usurp God’s place with impunity: “You will not certainly die” (Genesis 3:4).
In the 17th century, John Milton wrote “Paradise Lost” in which he described how Eve in her vanity and Adam in his concupiscence readily accepted Satanic fraud and consumed “the poisoned fruit of that Forbidden Tree whose mortal taste all our woe…” In Book Ten, Milton details how, straight from hell, Sin, Death, and Discord rushed into the world, how the love between Adam and Eve was spoiled by blame, fear, horror, shame, how the Earth’s axis tilted bringing extreme weather patterns, how human reason was diminished and diluted: the love of goodness and truth subordinated to instincts and passions.
Satan wasted no time, prompting Eve’s son Cain to commit the first murder out of envy. When God later asked :”Where is Abel thy brother?” Cain, an accursed liar like his evil mentor, said: “I don’t know: am I my brother’s keeper?“
