So which is it? Yesterday you said you were only repeating what the nun said upon discovering Sister Wilhelmina’s body, now you’re passing your comments off as an attempt at parody (yeah, I picked up on your use of the word “animus”). Free life advice: no one respects a weasel…
I presented their own words and you called it angry mockery. Today I talked about satire/parody and how it’s effective, which is why people accuse you of hostility and animus because they hate how it works. Now here you are calling me a liar and a weasel…’free life advice.’ You’re furious.
One of the main takeaways is that celibacy is not just for the Religious vocations … it is meant for us all – yes, even the married!
– quote –
“If, in other words, celibacy is a higher calling than marriage not because celibates are better people than married people on earth, but because it’s the pre-emptive heavenly state already begun on earth, provided it can actually be lived in generosity.”
And
“Christ’s ideal of for celibate men and women to be living on earth is the pre-emptive heavenly-state. Along these lines, I believe the most overlooked line on this comes from Jesus Christ Himself:
‘And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection’.—St. Luke 20:34-36”
– end quote –
One fundamental I’ve learned since becoming Catholic is that sexual relations are to be (not optional) for the sole purpose of procreating children. Period. The secular and Protestant ideas about conjugal relations as relational is a lie. Our spiritual focus, and from that our physical focus, is to be on God. We are to retain possession of ourselves and our passions. The conjugal relation is sacred and to be kept separate from base relational issues.
In this way, the married person is not that far off from the celibate monk or the celibate single. All Catholics are called to chastity, while others are called higher to celibacy. Fr Nix mentions the wonderful example of St Therese’s holy and heroic parents.
The common theme? Self control, by the grace of God.
Chastity, and celibacy are revolutionary choices in this sexually depraved milieu of debased humanity. The key to holy living in conjugal relations in this life and with one’s spouse is to paradigm shift away from the devil’s lie that “sex” is the apple of pleasure that just keeps on giving. Even as Catholics, this can turn God’s gift into a drug, and a gateway into further debasement. To be consumed with God is to exclude every unhealthy sexual attraction, which renders chastity, perhaps celibacy, as not only possible but likely (by God’s grace).
Just for the record, a trial parody being in order, the Defense calls to the stand a witness for the weasel.
Having been sworn in to tell “the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” Francis is seated. He proudly wears “the sacred eagle” headdress of a native American tribal chief and fetish jewelry given to him on the banks of the St.Lawrence by a Huron shaman.
He apologizes to the Court, this time not for any anti-Synodial insensitivity of long ago missionaries but, far worse, for the anti-indiginous desecration of the Mustelid family, i.e. all species of weasel native to North, Central, and South America. The latter, known as the Amazon weasel, has been a private Papal totem, not to mention a favorite of all Pachamama lovers from pre-Columbian times. Slamming down his fist on the railing, he objects to the Prosecution’s claim as irrelevant and immaterial. “If anyone knows a weasel, I do,” he says passionaetly. I know Walker, and Walker is no weasel… To say otherwise is tantamount to animal abuse.”
He hands over to the Judge as Exhibit A prime evidence, “A Guide to Native American Animal and Nature Symbols, Stories, and Ceremonies.”
He explains how the tribes of the Pacific Northwest honor the weasel as a “noble hero who uses his cleverness and powers to defeat monsters and villains.” In Plains tribes, weasels are associated with good health. Their pelts and claws adorn the regalia of chiefs, making it a sacred animal. in the Alaskan Athabaskan tribes, weasels are associated with wealth, and weasel tails are sometimes carried as a good luck charm.

There is a very good meditation on the complementarity of celibacy and marriage; and why celibacy is a higher choice.
This comes from Pilgrim Priest Fr David Nix, Padre Peregrino, whose articles I always look forward to.

People can look at the 2 videos and decide for themselves….but I don’t think I’m the one with anger issues. LOL.
